Darby Sloane

Grounds Maintenance Officer · Surry Hills / Sydney, New South Wales

Darby Sloane believes grassroots sports grounds hold the true soul of Australian neighbourhood culture. As a grounds maintenance officer in inner Sydney, he preps turf wickets and boundary lines before watching suburban rugby derbies and heading to The Cricketers Arms for a cold draught beer. His account documents weekend fixtures, volunteer canteen legends, and authentic local sports heritage.
