01.Chefs in Residence Kitchen● 40 RecommendationsA modern australian, restaurant serving great food.Crown Sydney, Level 3,, Sydney, NSW, 2000, Australia61 2 8871 718802.Torori Warabimochi Australia● 35 RecommendationsSydney dessert obsessives are making quiet pilgrimages to this Haymarket spot for a serious textural awakening. Forget standard chewy boba—this is all about that toro-toro life. Think incredibly soft, stretchy, ultra-gooey warabimochi. Dessert purists are absolutely hooked on the classic sets, heavily dusted in slightly bitter hojicha powder and drenched in rich kuromitsu (brown sugar syrup). The drink menu is just as wild. Unapologetically rich black sesame, sweet potato, and matcha mochi concoctions serve up pure comfort in a cup. Sure, the iced matcha mango leans a bit milky for the hardcore bitter-tea crowd, but the flavor profile is undeniably fresh. Add in genuine omotenashi from the lovely bilingual staff walking you through the sets, plus a scoop of Hokkaido milk ice cream, and you’ve got an authentic slice of Tokyo sweets culture. Grab a seat—or a well-packed thermal delivery—and lean into the gooey goodness.Floor 2/13 Hay St, Haymarket NSW 2000, Australia+61 2 8021 399503.24 York● 30 RecommendationsThose tracking down the Sydney CBD’s ultimate *steak frites* inevitably pull up a chair at 24 York. Forget bloated menus—this spacious spot is fiercely uncompromising, hyper-specialized in glorious, precision-seared beef. Carnivorous purists are obsessed with their unapologetic approach to the classic: tender cuts cooked to an exact *cuisson* (strictly medium-rare or well-done), flanked by a crisp, refreshing house salad. But the real flex? Unlimited shoestring fries crisped to golden perfection in pure beef tallow. Seriously, bottomless tallow fries. You drag those salty, rendered-fat chips through an intensely savory peppercorn sauce or buttery chimichurri, and it’s pure euphoria. Waiters weave through the buzzy, comfortable dining room slinging bespoke mustards and pouring excellent beers. Finish with a remarkably light slice of cheesecake—a flawless landing for a fiercely focused feast.24 York St, Sydney NSW 2000, Australia+61 2 8099 706704.Karen's Diner● 25 RecommendationsAn Australian-American chain of theme restaurants known for hilariously rude waiters and good burgersWorld Square, Unit 6, Sydney, VIC, 2000, Australia61 413 506 08505.Enigma● 20 RecommendationsA greek, restaurant serving great food.Old Northern Rd, Castle Hill NSW, NSW, Queensland, 2154, Australia61288503330
